Hi all,

New owner of a lovely Z4M Roadster.

Picked it up yesterday and very pleased with the car, although I’ve not managed to experience properly yet for to the horrendous weather we’ve had over the last two days.

A bit on me…long time ‘petrol head’ with my fair share of interesting cars, but this is my second ///M car.

Recently sold my e92 m3 which was great but decided I needed to sell to take a little money from the car for other things, however I set my eyes on a Z4MR as a replacement as fancied the idea of a Roadster and always loved the S54.

Once I started looking, I realised these were reasonably limited in numbers and there weren’t too many around, therefore I might need to travel for the right car.

After a little searching I located what sounded like a great car, with a good history, same owner for the last 10.5 years and only 65k on the clock, with the all important Vanos service work done.

The only thing, the we it wasn’t local, with me based down south and the car being in Leeds (roughly 4.5hrs away). That said, the car sounded very promising & I’ve travelled further for cars in the past and will always travel for the right car.

After speaking with the owner on the phone and agreeing a provisional price, subject to a a satisfactory inspection being carried out, I decided to progress.

The independent German specialist carried out a full inspection reporting only a few very minor items (that you’d expect for a 20 yr old car) but also saying it was one of the nicest examples they’d seen, I decided to make the trip up by train to view and hopefully bring home.

The car didn’t disappoint when I turned up, in fact I’d describe as mint. Maybe nicer than expected.
The deal was done and I started the long drive back down south.

The weather was appalling on the journey home so didn’t really get to stretch the car’s legs as traffic heavy and roads very wet, but the car cruised home very nicely.
I’ll really look fwd to many more dryer days where I can get to know the car properly.

I wanted to start a tread to document ownership and progress with the car.

Apologies for the rather poor picture quality, I’ll get some better pics when the sun is shining..

So far, the precautionary rod bearings replacement (ACL / ARP) is booked in early Nov, & in future may consider a change in wheels (CSL style but 18” - maybe Apex) with a potential CSL style carbon airbox.

Other than that, just want to look after, maintain the condition & enjoy the car.

Thanks for reading, a few pics.
