As we know, our cars are hardy wee things and I’m wondering what sort of mileage their engines do until they decide to call it a day. Anyone know? Has anyone’s Z3 done 200,000 plus miles? 300,000 miles with the engine still going strong?

@Mint 2.2 is well over 200k miles.

Gotta be Mr Mint's I would think

Is everyone shy about coming forward to be crowned King/Queen of the Miles?
How many miles can our cars’ engines do?
Has anyone reached 200,000, 250,000 or 300,000 with the original engine? What sized engine has reached some monumental number?

Yep, my 2.2 is now on 225285 miles. I hope posting this doesn't spell trouble for our upcoming Euro trip:eek:

The car will be fine 🤞
That’s a seriously impressive number.
Has anyone’s Z3 surpassed this?

What year is it? The car, I mean…not today’s year 🤣

It's one of the last Z3s off the line Dawn. She was born in Feb 2002.

There is a chap on the Alpina Register who has an E46 estate which has done more than 500,000 miles.

It has had at least two bottom ends, three top ends and several gearboxes, though. Trigger's broom of the BMW world.

Having just clocked 18,000 in my 2001 3.0..I feel I be long time dead when it reaches anything near 6 figures !
Same here. My Z3 has just gone over 55,000. It has done 400 miles in the past 12 months. So at that rate it will take 112 years to get to 100,000.
High mileage cars are really not my 'thing'.

My E32 730i has done 316,000. Original engine, and the first clutch lasted until 313,000.

Regular oil changes and careful use is the key.
Very impressive, Andy, and sound advice.

Put 830 on mine this week but still not rolled over into six figures. However our European trip continues...

I don’t do that many miles in my Z now , 🌞
And since I’ve retired I do even less ⭐
I’m not old enough to retire 🥳
But with everything going on ( in the last 4 years ) I find it hard to work mentally 🙂

231, 229 on mine.

Not at 200K yet but my Z has done 188,000 and I have done 167,000 of them. Likely to add a few more on next weeks trip to Tuscany.
