Z3 throttle cable replacement

I recently purchased a 2000 MY Z3 convertible 2.0 litre manual RHD with a stiff accelerator pedal. I’ve managed to get my hand on the throttle body to check the butterfly is moving normally and am pretty sure the problem is the throttle cable. I’ve watched a couple of YouTube videos on changing the cable, but mine looks particularly buried in the engine. Just wondering whether anyone else has replaced the cable on a MY 2000 Z3 convertible 2.0 litre?

There is a You Tube on the manual cable . ( maybe 2 of them) Fairly well done but spends most time on the inside of car, no information on the adjustment side.

The throttle cable (pt num 35411164834) on my 2.8 z3 needed replacing. BMW don't make them anymore so I had to source elsewhere I found JJ cables on Facebook, based in Banbury, others I know have had great experiences with them He said he cannot reuse the hook on the pedal end of the cable So...

I also purchased the grommets/clips and paid £59 I've got my car booked in this coming week to have it fitted. Looking forward to having a driveable car!

I did consider fitting it myself. I watched a few videos on Youtube, but decided against it. Two key points I picked up from watching the videos are firstly, tie a piece of wire onto the old cable, so you can pull the new one back the same route. Secondly, use a pair of long-nose pliers and a screwdriver to release the clip through the firewall, rather than a hammer and chisel like one guy did in his video

Releasing the clip through the firewall is the tricky bit unless you have a handy helper..the rest isn’t that bad, just fiddly, and you have to take all the intake boots off to get to the throttle

Definitely help if two of you replace the cable.
