I believe Fuzz owns the Z3M.

Just watching Car SOS on tv as they're re building a pimento red Triumph GT6 mk3 just like the one I had. Mine at Seaton, Devon early 1970's. I had a conifer green mk1 before that, but a gas lamp jumped out in front of it. :) View attachment 357169
I had a GT6 for about 20 years which I rebuilt from a rusty wreck. Only replaced when the Z came along.

I did something similar with gas lamps Mike, but they turned out to be more resilient than plastic traffic cones! Cast iron gas lamps in 1969, wonder when the last gas lamp was phased out in the UK. Mk 1 GT6 versus gas lamp, both written off, call it a draw. The police closed the road because of the leaking gas. They weren't very pleased.

Back in 2016 I was able to partake in a feature for Practical Classic Magazine which celebrated the 50 years since the Triumph GT6 was launched. The idea was to take 6 cylinder GT cars through the decades to how they all compared to the original concept of GT6, the line up was as follows below.
Two Triumph GT6s a Mk1 and a Mk2
MGC GT
Datsun 240Z
BMW Z3 M Coupe
The PC magazine started the feature at the original Triumph Factory Social Club (all that's left of the factory site) before moving on to Box Hill which was the part of the Triumph Factory's test circuit. We all had a brilliant day running up and down the hill and seeing how magazine photographers get the photos together for the magazine.
Interesting fact was that we saw Aston Martins, Porsches and Jaguars passing through during the day still using the roads in that area as part of test circuit.

The editor of the magazine loved my M Coupe as performance wise it totally left the other cars standing but of course the star of the magazine feature was the GT6!!!

Looks like you had a great experience. Not a yellow mk2 GT6 though, it's a mk3. The mk2 was the same shape as the red mk1pictured, but the bumpers were different and most importantly, the mk2 had a much improved rear suspension layout. The mk3 had an in house simplified version of this 'new' rear linkage.

My mistake, the print on the PDF copy of the original magazine article was small and I thought it was Mk11 when it was Mk 111.
Well spotted.
It was a great day, the photographer was brilliant, he turned up with a van with high step ladders so he could get his shots from above the cars. The way he got us to do staggered run of all the cars up Box Hill with him taking shots from out the back of the van was amazing. It was the photograph used for the front cover.
Danny Hopkins and Nigel Clark from Practical Classics really looked after us throughout the day with food and coffee.
