It's a lot of money which you could achieve yourself for the same money .

Plus even with investing in the gear you would have the products to top it up yourself.

To do the ceramic coating you need a dust free environment from what I read as it takes about 24hrs to cure and if you have stuff sticking to the coating it will show and the coating supposed to be a bugger to machine polish off. To be interesting to know what the extra cost is for the ceramic coating as I’ve seen about a grand all in.

Agree with the comments of buying the stuff and do your self If you have a drive way or a place where you can use for extended periods but if you have not or even the time as I would not due to working away from home a detail from a relatable detailler can give you a good bases to maintain but nothing so satisfying as spending some alone time with your zed I even flurted with the wife’s old mini cooper s once.

I work with a guy that used to be a member on here and he is into his detailing and he is very good at it. As some on here will know my paintwork had gone extremely flat just a year after having a complete respray.
I couldn't afford to spend £400 on a detail. @billz is another that has put some money into buying his own kit and enjoys detailing his car, if I had a proper spacious garage rather than just a carport I think I'd rather buy my own kit and learn to do it myself as I do really enjoy valeting the zed.

Car does look very clean from a distance, but there are paint issues starting to appear.
Having a detail done would stop this from getting worse, right ?
Detailing will not stop those paint problems mate, they will continue to deteriorate I'm afraid.

The cost of ceramic coating isn't worth it for me .especially on these cars .

Much more cost effective to apply a nice wax

The Z slush fund is running at £ 1200.-- a proper re-spray would be about 3000 - 3500 i guess.

a wash and wax to most of our standards on here.. but for £400..?
there is nothing special in that process that I see.
I would pay £120 at a push if that was me. especially as he is not having to touch a roof on a zed.
maybe if he lists even more items individually, like door mirror glass polished and instrument panel glass wiped then he could charge even more.=))

Some people spend that on cleaning products and coatings alone...
Talk to @Tim beard
You might not need to do the whole thing car (well it’s only half a car anyway as no roof, back doors etc!)

That definitely looks like it will need respraying. I had a 3 stage polish and the guy was on it for a week until he was happy. I bought the ceramic coating (about £85) and got him to apply it. Did he view the car or did you just get the price off his website. If he has seen the car then I don't think he should of given a price looking at the cracking you have in the paint.
I have probably spent around £800 On machine polishers, compounds and waxes but i just could not get the car front to the standard i wanted, the detailer found there to be flaws in the respray i had and the company who did it then rectified it free
I would estimate around 1300 for a full front respray
