Hi Alex , if you could post up a picture of problem area would help on giving advice ,
Remember that idiot from n.ireland mentioning some minor problems!! The front bumper is cosmetic ( pain masking it sufficiently as you can see Andy)you can see what transpired when I started to address the sill, replacement bus the only answer, fortunately the o/side will be ok this year( gas had some work for not by previous owner.) I have included a photo. If the rest suspension this shiwd the surface ,'rust/ dryness!!' which is apparent throughout the bottom of the car,no major rust problems but wondering what type of fluid/lubricant/' would address this problem.Any advice would be appreciated Andy, kind regards Alex

This is the point where I realize it is Bampz who asked for the photos, sorry Andy,my wife is now putting me back in to the padded cell!! In my defence I've only ever been in one other club/ forum for Evo's not adept with the systems etc. ' obviously'

Hi Alex , not being an expert by any stretch but to be honest I'd be inclined to take off the outer cills as they don't look the best and check out the inner cills ,

Hi Bampz those photos are in the early stages of the dismantling, later confirmedv the inner sills are ok but I am going to sandblast the 6 inches at each end of the inner ones and then tlreat them. You don't know the colour of the silver on the alloy rims Bampz, they are the original ones for that year, have to do a small repair on one, corrosion around the centre badge( strange luckily it's just one the rest are perfect.

No sorry don't know , but I'm sure someone will
No problem Bampz and many thanks for your replies on a Sunday night, there is a paint supplier one mile from me, that is where I got the plastic under coat, the high build normal undercoat and the artic silver finish,I would be confident if I take the rim down he will match it ( or close to it as I'm just blending in the centre and then will lacquer the whole rim) many thanks again Bampz and stay safe.

Hi Alex & welcome, I used to spend a lot of time in N Ireland in the early 80s as a kid my grandparents lived in Belfast some great memories & the people in N Ireland are so friendly . For the record I live in S where it definitely always rains but we make up for it with some great driving roads.

You got really far removing all that from the bumper then masking it up. It would have been simple to remove it after getting that far, 2 x T50 torx bolts to undo and it all slides forward off the car. You just need a long extension to access them from the underside of the bumper via the 2 holes.

Appreciate reply g jka but as you prob. see the sill on the drivers side has to be replaced ( didn't look that drastic at first but as usual rusting from inside) going to blast the inner sill for about 6 inches from both ends, so I weighed it up it was better to keep the car on the lift,if I had another of sheds empty at present I would have gone down your route ( but bikes take precedence!!)
