As title suggests, my 97 z3 didn't come with roll hoops or a wind deflector.. I had the top down the other night and I forgot how windy it gets in the cabin when going 50+ mph! I searched but couldn't find a definitive answer but is it possible to fit a wind deflector without roll hoops? Is there some kind of proprietary fitting kit available?

Thanks

It will ether be a Type 1 or Type 2.
Type 1 fits in the turret mounts, Type 2 fits on the 'parcel shelf' for want of a better word.

This is mine prior to its hoops upgrade. Under the "parcel shelf" there are two hollow metal tubes screwed in that take the pins of the deflector.

Just to make things even more confusing AMcD, there are two Type 2's with a different mounting distances between the pins.

This is a Type 1 on my car........

Or buy a set of roll hoops and trims and fittings etc from me and you'll have the best of both worlds. I even have s wind deflector too.

I have the type 2 on mine. It's an OEM one which came with the car

I have a type 1 going cheap but no fittings, its how it came to me. I fixed into hoop turret holes with slotted bars. No longer needed as have roll hoops and perspex now fitted
