I think I pay half that agreed at £25k. It’s through Howdens, formerly A-plan

I had trouble as there were no equivalents they could compare with, but accepted sales data from Matthewsons of the SWB 250 that had sold a few weeks before.
log book shows it’s a Tribute in my case
3000 miles per year, and garaged over night

6000 and driveway. Two reasons to make it more pricey :) .
I have spoken to several insurance brokers about this very thing in the recent past.
Bizarrely neither of the above is true anymore.
Apparently having a low limited mileage policy puts your premium UP. So does garaging your car over keeping it on the driveway. The reasons I was given was that a garaged car is much more likely to be damaged (in the garage) than a car on a driveway. And the mileage thinking is that those who drive very little are much more likely to have a fault accident because people get out of the habit of driving safely (ie they forget how to drive).

All sounds a bit 'iffy' to me but that is what I was told. 4-5000 miles per year is the 'sweet spot' for mileage apparently.

Hey @Pingu You kept the original Z3 centre console? There would have been a gap between the old centre console and the new GRP dash. What's that panel you have filling that gap? What's it made off? Any pictures of that being made?

Thanks

It's a wooden flat top with shaped aluminum ends, covered in alcantara. It has fabric poppers holding it in place.

It was one of the trickiest things to make due to the multiple curves and surfaces.

I could have permanently fixed it to the console, but having it removable allows access to the wiring and makes the console easier to remove and fit.

I don't have any pictures of it, but I made a little video just for you :) ...

Just the Esses leading to Mulsanne, and the Musanne straight (no swearing), and turn the sound up :racecar: ...

What did it feel like at that speed compared to a regular M roadster? Looks like fun!

The worst bit was that our helmets were bashing on the rollbar and the roof. I think the speed sensation would have been much the same in the roadster, just windier =)) . The M Roadster would probably be quieter, as it still has all it's original sound-deadening :) .

It actually felt quite sedate, as we couldn't really hammer it through the corners, although I got a wee bit of a jittering slide in Porsche Curves on Lap 1 (you can see the camera start to vibrate, and hear a bit of tyre squeal) before I hit the back of the queue to start Lap 2.

I was driving to what I perseved were other people's limitations, not just my own. That's what my problem was with the Aston at Arnage on Lap 1. If one of the crowd had pulled out of the 10 - 15 mph queue, he'd have creamed them.

Hi @Pingu can I ask about your dashboard.

In some of your earlier pictures and videos the ferrari-like grp dash isn't screwed on to the z3 dash stub. Is it bonded? But later I see screws along the front edge nearest the windshield.

Did you try bonding it first then screws?

The fibreglass dashboard is bonded to the leading edge of a butchered Z3 dashboard using fibreglass with Milliput to smooth the joint.

What image has the screws? I don't think there are any exposed screws - but I'm probably wrong.

Oh. Sorry. I take it back.

This video

At the start where the dash is picked up and flipped over it looks like light reflecting off screw heads. I just slowed it right down and see its rwflection off the corners of the demist slots.

Sorry.

So you used grp? Will that stick to the plastic dash?
